Lipsner-Smith Company has 37 years of experience in the motion picture industry, the most design experience, and the most users throughout the world. We can help you select the film cleaning method that is best for you, from a full range of five cleaning machines to meet your requirements and budget...all environmentally responsible, cost effective and safe to both film and operator.
Our best, the CF3000-MK VI the time tested and trusted solvent-based ultrasonic system, cleans irreplaceable films with complete safety. Any type of film... whether it be 60 year old nitrate, camera original, a client's invaluable print, or any film that cannot be replaced...will be safely and thoroughly cleaned by the patented CF3000-MK VI system.
The MK VI uses perchloroethylene, an ozone-safe, readily available, relatively inexpensive and proven film cleaning solvent. The combination of ultrasonically agitated solvent and immersed rotary buffers provide the safest and most thorough film cleaning method. The MK VI's virtually closed, self contained operating system means that virtually no vapor or solvent is vented to the atmosphere or wasted.

The EXCEL(TM) 700 non-immersion film cleaning system is our lowest priced machine. It uses IPA-dampened rotary soft-nap buffers along with particle transfer rollers to safely remove surface contamination from motion picture film.
The EXCEL 900 is an upgrade system, designed for price/value conscious buyers. It adds the time proven Lipsner-Smith film drying system, faster cleaning speeds, microprocessor controlled motorized threading and machine diagnostics.
Lipsner-Smith Company recently unveiled the EXCEL1100, a new non-immersion system which utilizes fully wetted buffers for improved film cleaning power. With the 1100, even heavily soiled films can be quickly and effectively cleaned. This new technology is factory retrofitable to the many EXCEL 900 systems already in use.
Lipsner-Smith has even manufactured an aqueous-based film cleaning system, the Model 403, for certain applications. However, we feel that the risks associated with water cleaning technology, and its limited cleaning ability, mean most users could instead have an EXCEL model and realize better cleaning performance, greater film safety, and lower running costs...all at lower capital outlay.
