In response to demand from broadcasters, RTI has designed a fully automated tape cleaning and evaluation system.

Our new Pro Line 7100 cart machine automates operation of our Pro Line 4100 cleaner, evaluating and erasing system for Betacam SP and Digital Betacam cassettes. After loading the machine your valuable studio staff are free to carry out other duties. In the meantime your tapes are being cleaned, inspected and categorized.

The Pro Line 7100 will accommodate up to two Pro Line 4100s and 123 small cassettes, 82 large, or a combination of small and large.

The Pro Line 7100 cart machine utilizes the TapeChek Pro Line 4100 which is designed to meet the needs of broadcasters and other professional Betacam users. Because the Pro Line 4100 will accommodate both the standard and large sizes, all cassettes for EFP, ENS, LMS and production VTRs can be recycled with one unit.

The minimum requirements to control the Pro Line 7100 cart machine are: it has to be IBM compatible with VGA color display, 8 Mbyte Ram, and 486-DX2 CPU or more. The operative system is DOS 6.22 + Windows for Workgroup 3.11 with a LAN adapter. At least 3 serial ports (plus the mouse port) have to be installed. All the serial ports must be equipped with the 16550, 16 bytes FIFO, UART and must be correctly installed under Windows (with lAO's not overlapping).

Cassette Sizes: Automatically senses standard or large size Betacam

Tape Speed: 120 p5. 25 times NTSC speed, 30 times PAL speed.

Comprehensive Tape Information Service: Back-lit liquid crystal
readout displays the following:
1. Total damage count and tape length in minutes/seconds
2. Number of damaged sections in each 5,10 or 15-minute tape segment
3. Number of damaged sections in top, middle and bottom areas of the tape
4. Damage location report of tape area (top, middle, bottom) by exact
location (minutes/seconds)

Automatic Tape Grading: tape grade indicated by "A-B-C" condition LEDs.

Detection System: CCD based defect detection system. Multiple detector elements scan the tape virtually edge to edge at over 3000 times per second, Reliably locates transverse wrinkles, creases, edge damage and longitudinal creases. Does not affect recorded signals.

Cleaning System: Three vacuum-assisted cleaning modules (two on the recording side and one on the back of the tape) use specially formulated wiping tissues that safely remove loose oxide particles and dust from tape surface before and after polishing.

Burnishing System: Dual precision sapphire burnishing posts polish the tape's recording surface in both forward and rewind directions.
